30 questions about Oldschool lolita

 I've written these 30 questions about Oldschool lolita for fun so I guess I should answer them too!

1) Your oldest piece ever

Baby Shirring Yoke Switching Lace Choker TShirt in black from 2001. I've found it on vinted for a good price and I love it! The choker is beautiful I want to use it more even when I'm not wearing the cutsew.
My oldest dress is Tartan JSK from 2002, it was a bit expensive but I wear it a lot in the summer.

 

 

2) Your newest piece ever

Gobelin set by Distant Melody, October 2025. I still have to wear it out and it's a shame! I prefer light gobelin but I think the dark one fits me and my style more.

 

3) An item you have no info about

My ETC cherry blouse, a discord server member said it's probably from 2003, what a great year for ETC!

Then this old AP black headdress which is really useful 

 

And I've recently bought this baby hd I haven't found info of (it's still at the warehouse)

 

4) Your first real oldschool item (it's debatable but let's say til 2007)

Wizard of oz JSK in black 

I still remember the day I got it. I was having a movie night w some friends and the auction for an old scallop hem was expiring that night. I was so anxious about the auction when my friend sent this JSK to me and I immediately pressed buy it now! I had to say goodbye to the old scallop hem but I've got this JSK I really love instead. I've recently worn this to watch the Wicked movie, I was very on theme hehe.
 

5) Favorite pair of socks?

Basic but I'd say Baby ribbon socks in BxW. It took me one whole year to finally get them.

6) Favorite os print

Gobelin teddy by Meta and Gobelin teddy bouquet by Baby. Yeah I love florals+teddies okay? It's such an adorable combination!

 

7) Solids or prints?

I'd say solids, however prints are kinda growing on me lately, especially florals.
 

8) A piece from the year you were born (if possible ofc)

My Baby Pairfat skirt! I can't believe I have it, it wasn't even a dream piece cause when I saw it on lolibrary the first time I was like "I'll never have the chance to get it" BUT here it is!

 

 

9) Did you start as an oldschooler? Tell us your story!

I've started as a modern gothic. I wanted to be covered in moitie... And now I barely have a pair of socks by them lol. After my first year as gothic I've slowly fallen in love with Baby classical releases and it has become my favorite brand. I also think that my face is more suitable for sweet than for gothic. But I still have a couple of (modern) gothic main pieces.
 

10) A piece you want a rerealese of (dreaming is free)

Josephine jsk cause it's my current grail.

More realistically I'm waiting for a princess skirt and cul de Paris release cause I've missed both of them.
 

11) Antique bouquet or gobelin print by Meta?

I don't know! I've actually written this question cause I can't choose between the two. I think I prefer antique bouquet slightly, especially the op. But I also love gobelin print jsk and since I'vs regretted not jumping in the AB bandwagon I think I'll end up preordering this one. Damn I should really do it cause I'm afraid the preorder period is about to be over.
 

12) Do you wear modern lolita too?

Yes! As I've said before I have a couple of modern gothic pieces. I also enjoy modern sweet too and I try to wear my French Cafe set whenever I have the occasion. I also style pieces that can be oldschool in modern ways sometimes, maybe w modern socks and bringing a trendy kumya with me.

I'm also a great fan of transitional era (2006-2009? Idk) so I take inspiration from that too

13) Do you wear gothic, sweet and/or classic? Which one is your favorite?

I mostly wear sweet, both modern and old. Only modern gothic but I'd love to get an old moitie someday or at least a rerelease of an iconic design. Classic is slowly growing on me, but I'm afraid I don't look "mature" enough for it. I've owned a couple of classic main pieces but my coords with them always ended up looking sweet.
 

14) Favorite jewelry item

My Vivienne Westwood earrings cause they were a birthday gift from my mom

And my old crown Alice on Wednesday necklace cause it's cute and it doesn't give me sensory issues like other necklaces do. Necklaces really disgust me unfortunately, I manage to wear them in lolita because of the layers between them and me but I never stack them for example. I want to love my Baby key necklace more but I feel gross whenever I touch it unfortunately.
 

15) Show us your usual petti

I only own two, an old black deflated one and an Aurora and Ariel one.

I actually use poofy bloomers more than actual pettis oops. I'm a low poof fan.

 

16) An item you own featured in a glb 

This page in GLB 22 has 3 items I own!

Little red riding hood skirt, cardigan (although mines are black) and heart Margaret in pink just like mine. I have to buy this volume when I can.

 

17) Do you own lolita magazines?

Yes! I own 3 GLBs and a moonbow. I want more ofc but they're so expensive to ship ugh!
 

18) Can you twin something with Momoko? Show us! (Any colourway)

I recently got hawase doll op in black but honestly I want it in pink as well to properly twin. I also own a millefeuille which she owns in sax (mine is navy)

19) How do you prefer to take your pictures? (Phone, digicam...)

I usually take pictures with my phone cause my dad lost my digicam but he finally found it last week. I love digicam pics they're so nostalgic and fun! While I hate high quality 4K iphone pictures... I wanted to put an ILD pic as my profile picture but in all the iphone ones there's a very visible pimple on my chin lol.
 

20) The main colours of your wardrobe

Aside from black and white, navy and pink. I also like red details but I don't use it as a main colour.
 

21) Favorite fabric?

Cotton for sure. I grew up with cotton clothes cause my mother was very careful about my sensory issues and she always chose good fabrics. I also love velveteen but the only velvet main piece I own has seen better days 
 

22) Do you own any rerelease of an old design? 

A lot of them: hawase doll, lace frill, hem scallop... Even if they're post 2010 and a little different from the original release I can still style them as oldschool
 

23) Favorite thing about os?

The fact it's comfortable, simple but somewhere complicated. And of course I love older designs, ideas and preferences. The fact that it's so easy to mix and match (and mismatch!) colours and themes.

The fact that I really feel like myself wearing these clothes. I've just noticed that most of my IG posts aren't oldschool, because during "important" meets where we take a lot of pics I tend to wear more polished and modern coords. I mainly "go oldschool" to study at home, to walk the dog and do groceries so I have no decent pictures of them, but it's okay since I'm wearing coords in my everyday life basically for self-care.
 

24) Do you consider os a substyle?

Short answer no because os can be any substyle. But on the other hand the difference between the substyles tends to be more subtle in oldschool so I see why newbies may be confused.
 

25) An item you own that everyone wants 

I think the little red riding hood set, not that much but it's applique series has many fans.

26) An unpopular opinion you have about os

There are still underrated pieces for good prices. Especially for "secondary" brands. 

Another thing (not sure if unpopular) is that I like when my items are on lolibrary and not some unknown piece. I want to know everything about my items they're my children!!

27) Favorite street snap

I'm so in love with this snap that I'd buy another wizard of oz in navy just because of it.

28) Favourite GLB cover

A tie between the Versailles no bara and Nanko ones, cause I really love the characters and Ikeda's style.

29) Show your grail items. Do you think you'll ever be able to get them?

Josephine jsk and cape are my biggest dream items right now. I was so close to getting the jsk but missed it for some seconds. I'm positive that one day I'll get the chance to get one in any colourway. The rest of my wishlist items are matching headwear that I won't probably ever find unfortunately. Oh and cul de Paris blackxblack, but that should be easy right? Right??
 

30) Do you read egl blogs/do you have one?

I'm reviving my blog with these questions. I love reading blogs, it was one of the things I did the most while researching the fashion. 
I hope I'll be able to post here more since I love blogs so much, byee.
